The Swedish women's national handball team has qualified for the European Championship after winning 27-22 against Serbia in Lund. The victory gives Sweden eight points in the qualifying group, securing a spot in the tournament scheduled for December. Sweden had previously beaten Serbia 29-26 away earlier in the week.
The European Championship will be held in five countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Turkey. This marks the first time an international handball championship is played in more than three countries. Sweden's top scorer in the match was Clara Lerby with seven goals.
The team's final qualifying matches are against Ukraine away and Lithuania at home in April.
