The construction of the logistics hall has been ongoing for two years, marking a significant upgrade for the regiment. Until now, conscripts and employed soldiers had to pick up their equipment in Visby, but now all the regiment's functions are gathered in the same place. According to Dan Rasmussen, Chief of the Gotland Regiment, this consolidation means a great deal, as it facilitates logistics management and cooperation within the same barracks area for the first time since P18 was re-established in 2018.
Magnus Fransson, Acting chief of the supply department at the Gotland Regiment, described the building as a real dream come true, providing a nice workplace and fine facility for many needy at the regiment. The specific equipment previously picked up in Visby and the total cost of constructing the logistics building have not been disclosed. Additionally, it is unknown how many conscripts and soldiers will use the new facility or what environmental features it includes.
