Sweden's women's handball team won 29-26 against Serbia in Kragujevac, Serbia, in a European Championship qualifier. This was Sweden's third consecutive victory in the qualifiers. Veteran player Nathalie Hagman scored her 1000th goal in the match, reaching a total of 1001 goals, making her the third Swedish player to achieve this milestone after Mia Hermansson-Högdahl and Åsa Mogensen.
Sweden now leads the qualifying group by two points ahead of Serbia, with the return match scheduled for Saturday in Lund. Sweden is practically qualified for the European Championship finals, which will be hosted by five nations: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Turkey.
