Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that the Sweden Democrats will get posts in the government if the Tidö parties win the election this autumn. According to Ekot's domestic political commentator, the Tidö parties are pulling ahead in the competition to show unity. Presenting Kristersson as the prime ministerial candidate together is a way to twist a weapon out of the hands of red-green debaters who often say that Jimmie Åkesson could become prime minister.
Fredrik Furtenbach said it is a way to paint a coming government as extra threatening, but that it becomes difficult to claim that now.
