Malin and Fredrik van Bruggen bought a 1970s house in Hörby, Sweden, and initially planned to renovate most of it. However, they reportedly changed their minds and scrapped the renovation plans to save time and money for other purposes. According to unconfirmed reports, a key reason for stopping renovations is that they can now take care of their children full-time.
The couple hopes to inspire others to feel comfortable in outdated and unstyled homes. They moved from a condominium in Malmö to the larger house when expecting their first child, driven by a shared interest in gardening and a budget constraint.
