Swedish beach volleyball players Jonatan Hellvig and David Åhman have withdrawn from this week's World Tour tournament in Tlaxcala, Mexico, due to injury problems. According to the Swedish beach volleyball federation, Åhman needs to rest his knee after high strain during last week's tournament in Joao Passoa, Brazil, which the reigning Olympic and world champions won. The duo was on site in Tlaxcala for the year's first Challenge tournament when they withdrew late.

They arrived at the tournament as the new world number one after the latest ranking released yesterday. The world championship silver pair Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson are in Mexico to represent Sweden.
