Swedish national team biathlete Anton Ivarsson, 25, has announced his retirement from the sport. He made the announcement during the Swedish Championships week in Umeå, reportedly after the SM relay event. Ivarsson told Expressen that he has lost all joy for biathlon and felt it was the right decision to do something else.
He reportedly decided in January, citing a tough period in recent years with multiple operations and a particularly poor season this year, which left him feeling completely broken.
I have lost all joy for biathlon and felt it was the right decision to do something else.
