The 33-year-old Olympic gold medalist announced the news on Instagram alongside his partner Sandra Abremark. Nelin posted a photo of his newborn son with the caption "Livet 2.0" (Life 2.0), signaling a new chapter in his life outside of sports.
The announcement comes after what Nelin described as a difficult end to the biathlon season, where he finished near the bottom in the season finale at Holmenkollen in Norway. In an interview with Expressen during the competition in Norway, Nelin expressed anticipation for the baby's arrival, stating: "I'm really looking forward to it. I don't think you understand until he comes out and you meet him." He had been on standby for the birth, which was expected around March 30.
