Swedish national team footballer Emma Holmgren has become a mother, according to reports from SVT Sport. The 28-year-old defender and her fiancé Fredrik Andersson welcomed a baby girl on March 5.
Holmgren reportedly discovered she was pregnant during last summer's European Championship in Switzerland, where she was participating in her first major tournament with the Swedish national team. She told Aftonbladet at the time that the discovery was both shocking and joyful, describing it as a "what the fuck" moment while also expressing happiness about fulfilling a dream.

The couple announced the birth on Instagram, writing: "Welcome to the world little Elsa. Yesterday, March 5, our little girl finally arrived, how we love you." Holmgren's fiancé, Fredrik Andersson, works as a football coach for Kif Örebro.
Holmgren, who joined her current club last summer but has yet to make her competitive debut, has previously played for French champions Lyon as well as Eskilstuna and Linköping in the Swedish women's top division.
