Swedish parliament member Katja Nyberg has been documented driving a car despite having her driver's license revoked by the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen), according to reports from Expressen and Aftonbladet. The former police officer, who now sits as an independent MP after being expelled from the Sweden Democrats, had her license suspended in late January due to suspicions of drunk and drug driving during a Christmas holiday incident last year. Expressen reported documenting Nyberg driving her own car in Stockholm on Tuesday, with footage showing her attempting to avoid questions by raising her sun visor and driving away.
In a statement to Epoch Times, Nyberg admitted to the driving, saying 'I moved the car in connection with cleaning day. ' She claimed she had no one else to help her with parking. Prosecutor Anders Jakobsson of the Special Prosecutor's Chamber told Expressen that if the observations are accurate, Nyberg has committed a legal offense.
I moved the car in connection with cleaning day. It was wrong of me and I take responsibility for it.
