Swedish Lottery Winner Unaware of 6.5 Million SEK Prize as ATG Searches for Mystery Man

Key Points
  • A man from Västra Götaland won nearly 6.5 million SEK on Saturday's V85 lottery at Bergsåker but hasn't claimed his prize.
  • ATG officials have been unable to contact the winner despite multiple attempts via phone, text, and email.
  • Only three betting systems survived the V85 round, with the mystery winner placing a 200-kronor 'Harry Boy' bet.

A man from Västra Götaland has become a multi-millionaire without knowing it, according to Swedish gambling company ATG. The unidentified winner secured nearly 6.5 million Swedish kronor (approximately $620,000) on Saturday's V85 horse racing lottery at Bergsåker, but has yet to claim his prize.

Only three betting systems survived the V85 round at Bergsåker. One was submitted by a man in his 60s who credited Expressen's Magnus A Djuse for his win, another by a woman from Örebro, and the third by the mystery man from Västra Götaland who placed a 200-kronor 'Harry Boy' bet.

I have called, texted, and even emailed our congratulations but am still waiting for the winner to get in touch

Julia Björklund, winner communications officer at ATG

Julia Björklund, winner communications officer at ATG, told Expressen Sport that the company has been trying to contact the winner without success. 'I have called, texted, and even emailed our congratulations but am still waiting for the winner to get in touch,' Björklund said. She suspects the winner may have blocked her number, thinking she was a telemarketer.

While it's not uncommon for winners to take time to respond, Björklund noted that this delay is unusual. The winning system was built around picks on Bleke Borken (V85-2) and Västerbo Hawkeye (V85-3). ATG continues its search for the man who may be unaware of his newfound wealth.
