A 50-year-old former teacher employed by Sundsvalls kommun has received a conditional sentence for sexual harassment of underage students. According to court documents, the man was convicted on two counts of sexual harassment against children and one count of child pornography offenses. The incidents reportedly occurred on school premises.

The teacher, who denies all allegations, was acquitted on several other charges including suspicion of attempting to meet a child for sexual purposes, as the court found insufficient evidence. The victims were 12 and 13 years old at the time of the incidents. The court ordered the man to pay a total of 22,000 kronor plus interest in compensation to two of the victims.

Normally such offenses would carry a prison sentence of several months, but the district court considered that the teacher had already lost his job following the revelations. The conditional sentence reflects this mitigating circumstance. The teacher was previously charged last spring with offenses against four girls, all under 15 years old and students at the school where he worked.
