Uppsala students began queuing overnight on Tuesday evening for tickets to this year's Valborg celebrations, with approximately 50 people gathering outside Stockholms nation. According to Uppsala Nya Tidning, an informal queue formed around 9 PM on March 24, 2026, with students prepared to spend the entire night waiting for ticket sales to begin. Among those in line was student Elsa Millestad and her classmates, who arrived equipped with thermal pants, sandwiches, and entertainment for the long wait.
The queue formed on the sidewalk outside the student nation, though fencing had been prepared inside the courtyard to organize the line. Valborg, often called 'Uppsala's national day,' is a major spring celebration in the university city, with students traditionally queuing for tickets to events like the Champagnegalopp. SVT Uppland reported that students were employing strategic planning to secure their spots in line, with some groups taking shifts throughout the night to maintain their positions.
