The population of Strömsund municipality in Sweden decreased in 2025, according to Statistics Sweden's population statistics. The municipality had 10,904 inhabitants, which is 119 fewer than the previous year. One reason for the decline is a low birth rate, with 62 births and 160 deaths in 2025.
Fewer people moved into the municipality than moved out, with 453 moving in and 472 moving out. The situation is shared with over 60 percent of the country's municipalities, according to municipal councilor Susanne Hansson.
