Storhamar secured the league title in the previous round but lost 3-4 to Frisk Asker in the final regular season match. Colin Campbell scored two quick goals early in the 1st period to give Frisk Asker the lead at the first break. In the middle period, Frisk Asker took command and turned it to 3-2.

Michael Haga increased to 4-2 for Frisk Asker with a penalty scoring in the 3rd period, and with little time left, Mats Bakke Olsen set the result to 3-4. Frisk Asker finished in 3rd place in the regular season. Vålerenga tied Storhamar with 103 points but placed second on head-to-head matches after beating Lillehammer 3-0 away in the last round.

Stavanger Oilers finished fourth after a 4-2 win against Nidaros. Sparta won 2-1 against Narvik with match-winning scoring from Tinius Ekhaugen. Stjernen secured a playoff spot by beating Lørenskog 4-1 and moving to 7th place ahead of Lillehammer.

After Saturday's matches, the best teams chose their quarterfinal opponents, with series champion Storhamar selecting Lillehammer. Vålerenga chose Stjernen, Frisk Asker meets Sparta, and Stavanger Oilers will take on Narvik. The quarterfinals are played in best of seven and start on March 4.
