A serious traffic accident involving an overturned truck and multiple vehicles has shut down the E4 highway north of Gävle, Sweden. According to police reports, the collision occurred in the northbound direction near Skarvberget and involves an estimated 10 to 15 passenger cars and several trucks. The overturned truck is reportedly blocking the roadway completely.
Swedish authorities have closed the highway in both directions and are diverting traffic around the accident scene. The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) states the incident is having a major impact on traffic flow, with normal traffic not expected to resume until approximately 13:30 local time. Police report they currently have no information about any injuries resulting from the accident.
Emergency services are on scene managing the situation and coordinating traffic diversions.
