The fraudsters sent text messages about rental cars needing to be returned and then tried to collect gold from elderly people, according to Daniel Wikdal, press spokesperson for Stockholm Police.

The attempts took place in areas including Södermalm, Östermalm, and Kungsholmen. One completed fraud is classified as aggravated fraud, while in another case, a person tried to push past into an apartment, causing an elderly man to fall. The robber did not succeed in completing the robbery attempt.
