Planning for a national football center for top-level sports in Kista, Stockholm, has taken a step closer to reality. The city planning office in Stockholm has started detailed planning for the center. Kim Källström, football manager at the Swedish Football Association, says they want to make a center that is very accessible.
He notes that in the Stockholm area, there are currently no football fields of the level needed. Good communications, proximity to the national arena in Solna, and the science hub in Kista are some of the reasons for choosing this location. Next to the training facility for national team players, they also want to build a field where local Stockholm teams can play.
