Blasting for the Norrbotniabanan railway project has started in Sävar, Sweden. Traffic on the E4 highway will be stopped several times a day during the blasting, continuing until June. According to Gerhard Barrestål, project leader at Trafikverket, there will be between two and five blasts each day, and all traffic on the E4 will be halted in connection with them.
Barrestål stated that a blast is a blast and anything can happen, and one should never be completely sure about the risks.
