According to SOS Alarm's annual report for 2025, Sweden's emergency call service handled more calls than the previous year but experienced longer average response times. The organization managed over 3.8 million calls in 2025, representing an increase of approximately 70,000 calls compared to 2024, though still below the record year of 2023 when around 4.1 million calls were received.

The average response time for 112 calls increased to 7.3 seconds in 2025, up from 6.6 seconds in 2024. Despite this increase, the response time remains below the government target of eight seconds.

SOS Alarm's crisis preparedness department (KBA) handled nearly 45,500 cases during the year, marking a 20 percent increase from previous levels. The organization also reported that interpreter support during calls has become more common, with conversations interpreted in a total of 78 different languages besides Swedish throughout the year.

The statistics, published in early March 2026, show continued high demand for emergency services while highlighting challenges in maintaining rapid response times as call volumes increase.
