Sony has announced it will raise prices on all PlayStation 5 consoles globally starting April 2, 2026, marking the second price increase in less than a year. According to reports, the standard PS5 with disc drive will increase to approximately 650 euros (or dollars depending on region), while the digital edition will rise to 600. The high-end PlayStation 5 Pro model will see the largest increase, reaching around 900.
The handheld PlayStation Portal accessory will also increase from 200 to 250 euros. Sony cites global economic conditions and rising memory component costs as primary reasons for the price adjustments. Industry analysts note that increased demand for memory components from AI data centers, combined with limited supply, has contributed to the cost pressures.
The price increases will affect multiple markets including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe. This represents the second price hike for PS5 consoles since August of the previous year.
