Sofia Wallström, CEO of Lif – the association of research-based pharmaceutical companies in Sweden, has been elected to the board and appointed as the new vice chairman of Medicon Valley Alliance. The election took place during the organization's regular annual general meeting in 2026. Alongside Wallström's appointment, Danish chairman Niels Abel Bonde and Finnish representative Matthew Iles, CEO of AbbVie Scandinavia, were re-elected. Norwegian Gabriel Johannessen, Country Lead for Sanofi Denmark, was also elected to the board.
