Social Services Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M) has promised to develop measures to improve the work environment for social services employees following reports of threats and arson incidents in Huddinge. According to SVT Stockholm, threats and arson have been directed at politicians and officials in the municipality. Despite increased camera surveillance and security guards in municipal buildings and offices, the situation has reportedly escalated in recent years.
Therese Svanström, chair of the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees (TCO), argues that society needs more than just criminal justice measures to address the situation. The minister's commitment comes in response to what has been described as a deteriorating situation in Huddinge.
