SMHI has issued a yellow warning for snow showers and wind in the mountains of northern and southern Lapland and the northernmost Jämtland mountains in Sweden. The warning is for windy conditions with hard to very hard wind, and storm on peaks at times. It is also windy in low terrain with very hard wind gusts that can become storm gusts.
SMHI warns people to cancel mountain trips if they are not properly experienced in mountain terrain. For those who go out into the mountain world despite the warning, it can be difficult to orient themselves due to reduced visibility and there is a risk of frostbite.
