The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued yellow weather warnings for snow in parts of central Sweden. The warnings cover Dalarna, Värmland, Örebro, and Gävleborg counties. One warning was in effect from Saturday evening until 09:00 on Sunday, and another is valid from midnight until 15:00 on Sunday.
According to SMHI, the snow is described as abundant at times and could bring 5-10 cm of snow, locally more. The agency warns that travel times may be longer due to slippery conditions, poor visibility, and snowdrifts, and there is a risk of delays or cancellations in public transport. The warnings coincide with events like the Vasaloppet ski race and World Cup competitions in Falun.
