Two finalists were determined in the fourth heat of Melodifestivalen in Malmö. The band Smash Into Pieces advanced with the song "Hollow", and Cimberly advanced directly to the final with her song "Eternity". Cimberly's advancement was reportedly a surprise to many.
The event included a tribute to Ted Gärdestad, who would have turned 70 this year, with Oskar Linnros performing his own version of "Himlen är oskyldigt blå". The next heat will take place in Sundsvall.
