Slussen metro gets new entrances and shorter walks
Key Points
  • Bus passengers from Katarinavägen will have shorter walking distance to entrance.
  • Three entrances during transition: Katarinavägsentrén, main entrance at Ryssgården, temporary northern entrance.
  • New northern entrance under Ryssgården will enable easy transfer to Saltsjöbanan.

According to Region Stockholm, bus passengers from Katarinavägen will have a shorter walking distance to the entrance. During a transition period, there will be three entrances in the area around Ryssgården and Katarinavägen: Katarinavägsentrén, the main entrance at Ryssgården, and a temporary northern entrance at Ryssgården. The southern entrance towards Götgatan/Hökens gata will continue to be open as usual.

When Stockholm City later demolishes the temporary northern entrance, entrances and exits will only be via Krysset (the main entrance to the metro) with connections to Katarinavägen and Ryssgården. A new entrance at the northern end of the metro is being built under Ryssgården and will open when all public transport work is completed. The new northern entrance will allow easy transfer between the metro and the Saltsjöbanan railway. The exact timeline for the transition period and the demolition of the temporary entrance has not been announced.
