A school bus transporting students to Vindelälvsskolan in Sorsele caught fire on Tuesday morning near Ammarnäs, according to reports from SVT Västerbotten. The incident occurred shortly after 7 AM when the bus began burning in the front brakes with open flames. Special education teacher Jenny Sjöström, who was on the bus, stated that staff used powder extinguishers to control the fire before emergency services arrived.
No students were injured in the incident. Sjöström reported that the students remained calm throughout the ordeal, warming themselves in a fire truck while waiting for a replacement bus to continue their journey to school. Vindelälvsskolan's principal Ola Sonidsson informed other students waiting along the route about the delay caused by the fire.
