According to multiple reports, Skellefteå AIK will undergo a major rebuild for the upcoming season. Eight players are leaving the men's team: Tim Barkemo, Petter Granberg, Anton Olsson, Elias Salomonsson, Martins Dzierkals, Theo Keilin, Simon Robertsson, and Elias Stenman. Additionally, Luke Witkowski, Oskar Nilsson, Lars Bryggman, and Martin Lundberg will not have their contracts renewed. Alexander Hellnemo is confirmed to join Nybro Vikings.
Star defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka and forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygård are expected to leave for the Detroit Red Wings' farm team, Grand Rapids Griffins, according to research. Norran reports that Max Lindholm will likely move to Frölunda HC, as he seeks a fresh start with one year left on his contract. Norran also stated that Sandin-Pellikka will be impossible to replace.
On the incoming side, Skellefteå AIK has signed forward Andro Kaderli from Leksands IF as a replacement for Lars Bryggman. Kaderli recorded 13 points in 49 games last season. Sportbladet reports that the club is pursuing several top forwards and hopes to complete a dream signing soon, and that there is a bidding war for an NHL player involving Skellefteå AIK.
The women's team also sees departures: Nicoline Söndergaard Jensen, Moa Viklund, and Line Grahn are leaving, according to multiple reports. The club thanked them in a press release, saying they were important in reaching the SDHL.
