Maintenance work on the pools at Skatås Motion Center will begin on Monday, May 4, leading to their closure for an estimated four weeks, as stated by official sources. The pools are planned to reopen in June, though the exact date has not been specified. This shutdown is necessary because the water purification system requires maintenance, which mandates that the pools be empty during the work.
While the pools are closed, other facilities such as the gym, group training areas, outdoor showers, sauna, and terraces will remain open as usual, according to the center. Holders of period cards, including gold cards, gym and group training cards, motion cards, or FaR cards, can freeze their cards for free for four weeks starting May 4. Card freezing must be done via the reception to avoid a 100 kronor fee and to ensure it does not count against the annual 60-day freeze allowance; no retroactive freezes are offered.
If a card expires while the pools are closed and the holder wishes to freeze it, they must notify the center before the card expires. Additionally, holders of punch cards, such as 20-cards, 10-cards, or try-out cards valid for five occasions, can extend the validity of their cards for free. However, if the maintenance work takes longer than estimated, no additional compensation will be offered.
