The crew member was a special effects technician who severed multiple fingers on one hand in an accident involving a saw, sources said. Doctors attempted to reattach the technician's fingers, but the surgery was reportedly unsuccessful.
The accident occurred in a workshop at Sky Studios Elstree, not on the main set, according to reports. The circumstances leading up to the injury have not been revealed. Filming of How To Train Your Dragon 2 began at the studio in February.
