A comprehensive sexual crime investigation began unfolding in Sjuhärad in early 2025, linked to technical seizures made in the investigation of the murder of a 17-year-old girl in Marks municipality in 2024. In the seizures, police discovered abuse material showing children have been victimized, including the boy who murdered the 17-year-old with sexual elements. In the fall, the boy's father was convicted of aggravated rape against him and is now charged with additional sexual crimes against children.
He denies the crimes but has admitted to certain circumstances in interrogations. A woman in her 30s is also charged, together with the father, for sexual harassment, with the boy said to have been forced to film their intercourse. The father was also acquainted with a man in his 65s who is at the center of the sexual crime investigation and is linked to a porn cinema in Western Sweden.
On Tuesday, the 65-year-old is charged with, among other things, aggravated rape of a child, rape of a child, and aggravated sexual abuse of a child, with a number of the crimes said to have occurred inside the porn cinema. He is further charged with aggravated child pornography crime and, according to the indictment, had 52,383 child pornography files, where 19,229 images and 4,592 films with 310 hours of playtime are assessed to constitute particularly ruthless abuse material. According to the man's defense lawyer, Emelie Aronsson Rindby, her client denies the crimes in the main, stating that he has had sex with one of the plaintiffs after she turned 15 years old, but that it should have happened with consent.
A total of ten people are convicted or charged suspects for crimes in the investigation. The sexual crimes stretch from about ten years back in time and forward. Prosecutor Sofia Bryngelsson has declined an interview until judgments are rendered.
