Sir Dave Brailsford is no longer involved at Manchester United, according to multiple reports, as he steps back from football operations after a year-long tenure. Brailsford has moved to a different area of INEOS' business following a reshuffle, major media outlets report. Club filings reveal he is no longer listed as a director at Manchester United.

Reports from last summer stated Brailsford would move back to his director of sport role for INEOS, and he spent a year in charge of football operations at United after INEOS took over control from the Glazer family. Brailsford was installed at United by Sir Jim Ratcliffe after INEOS purchased a stake in the club in December 2023, according to multiple reports. He was involved in setting up the new leadership team at Old Trafford, including hiring Omar Berrada as chief executive.

Brailsford was previously team principal of Ineos Grenadiers, the cycling team he led to multiple Tour de France victories. During Brailsford's tenure, United finished 15th in the Premier League last season and lost the Europa League final. The club sacked Ruben Amorim as manager in January, during Brailsford's tenure.

Since then, interim boss Michael Carrick has won 10 of his 14 games in charge, and United have secured a return to the Champions League for next season. They sit third in the Premier League with three games remaining. United is now run by Omar Berrada as chief executive and Jason Wilcox as technical director, according to multiple reports.
