Moore pleaded no contest to misdemeanor trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device. Felony home invasion and stalking charges were dropped. He received an 18-month probation sentence, with 180-day and 30-day prison terms suspended.
Paige Shiver, Moore's executive assistant and alleged mistress, said he broke into her apartment, crying and enraged, and came at her with knives. Moore admitted to an improper affair during police interrogations.
Here is a man who has devoted himself to working hard to get where he needs to be. And I can tell you that this is a man who will continue his path and continue his journey, and he will do what it takes to get there.
Moore blamed Shiver for his dismissal and arrest, telling Daily Mail - Sport, 'She ruined my life, man.' He claimed he wanted to fire her but she threatened to sue. His attorney Ellen Michaels said the felony charges were baseless and 'the system worked.'
Shiver accused the University of Michigan of failing to protect her from 'years of manipulation, harassment, and exploitation.' Judge J. Cedric Simpson suggested Moore's due process may have been violated by an 'intentional misdirection' by police in the warrant.
She ruined my life, man. It's always the women that try to do this s***, man.
I have to spend a night in jail because she lied. I never did anything to her. She straight up lied. She ruined my life… She's lying. I wanted to get rid of her and she said I couldn't because she'd sue me.
I did not hold anything to her, touch her, and that's when I drove on. That's when I left. I drove and I was gonna harm [myself].
So, I got fired because of a relationship with her. Unfortunately, outside of my marriage, it happened and I was done with it. I wanted to let her go, but I couldn't, because she told me she would sue
I mean, here's a man that had complete control over me, over my emotions, over my career. He knew that and he used it against me. Every time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to try get out of Michigan, he always had a story, always had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn't leave him because he was so miserable without me.
December 10th was the most terrifying day of my life. The criminal acts he committed were extremely frightening and violent. He broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged, and came at me with knives. I was threatened, and I feared for my life.
