SD Politician Leaves Party After Being Removed from Parliamentary List in Värmland

Anders Nordström Birkefjärd, a Sweden Democrats politician in Värmland, has announced he is leaving the party after learning through media reports that he was being removed from third place on the party's parliamentary list. According to SVT Värmland, Birkefjärd stated he "does not accept being treated so disrespectfully" and has informed the party that he is ending his membership and leaving his trust assignments within Karlstad municipality. The removal reportedly occurred after former Moderate Party member Marlène Lund Kopparklint switched to the Sweden Democrats last week and was placed in the third position on the Värmland list, displacing Birkefjärd.

" He also questioned the recruitment of "long-standing politicians from other smaller parties" when there are many capable politicians within SD-Karlstad who could do an excellent job in parliament.
