The break-in allegedly occurred in the garage of Åkesson's residence during the night leading to Tuesday. According to the report, Åkesson confronted the intruder on his own.

The Swedish Security Service (Säpo) has confirmed it is investigating the incident. ' Wernstedt added that Säpo is aware of the reports but declined to comment on specific circumstances. The investigation is reportedly being led by a prosecutor at the national unit for security matters.
