Food giant Scan Sverige has announced the acquisition of Jämtlandsgården Livsmedel AB, which operates a slaughterhouse in Hammerdal, according to a company press release. The deal also includes Delsbo Slakteri, with both facilities previously owned by Mattias Norell and Thomas Gill through their joint company Delsbo Kött AB.

Scan stated the acquisition aims to meet growing demand for Swedish meat and strengthen the company's slaughter capacity in northern Sweden. Jämtlandsgården has served as a contract slaughter facility for Scan for several years.
