During Saturday's episode of Saturday Kitchen, host Matt Tebbutt welcomed drinks connoisseur Olly Smith, chefs Andi Oliver and Nathan Outlaw, and Loose Women star Judi Love, who discussed her comedy tour. Sophia Handschuh impressed the stars with her homemade pastries, while Andi Oliver took charge of the kitchen to make a smoked chilli blood orange chicken with waffles containing white sweet potato. BBC viewers complained that Andi Oliver did not wash her hands with soap after touching raw meat, with one anonymous viewer on X noting hygiene concerns.
Eagle-eyed fans also saw Andi Oliver pick up a potato waffle from the floor, as another viewer observed. During her cooking segment, Andi Oliver spoke about presenting the new series of The Great British Menu, which returned to screens in February. This year on The Great British Menu, comedian Phil Wang joined lead judge Tom Kerridge and Lorna McNee in the search to find the next best in British cuisine, following the departure of Ed Gamble.
I have to say, it's my favourite menu that we've ever done this year at the banquet. It's so broad in its reach, the menu, that I'm just quite excited about it. Can't wait for everybody to see it.
Judi Love's new tour will be packed with home truths about the hustle of juggling parenting, work, and everyday life. It remains unknown whether the BBC or Saturday Kitchen producers have responded to the viewer complaints about hygiene, or if Andi Oliver or other show participants have addressed the incidents.
