Sanna Nielsen is reportedly set to compete in Melodifestivalen for the eighth time, according to sources. She is celebrating 30 years as an artist this year. Nielsen first participated in 2001 with the song "I går, i dag" and placed third.
She won Melodifestivalen in 2014 with "Undo" and placed third in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. After her win, she had said she was done competing in music, but reportedly had a change of heart last year after performing a medley at the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame induction. Her new song is "Waste your love," written by Thomas G:son, who also co-wrote two of her previous entries.
Nielsen will perform last in Sundsvall this weekend. During her break from Melodifestivalen, she hosted Allsång på Skansen from 2016 to 2022 and had a son, Gibson, who is now four years old. Sources indicate she has the most final placements in the modern era of Melodifestivalen, with six finals to her name.
