Sandra Näslund won the World Cup ski cross event in Kopaonik, Serbia, after the Olympics. It was her sixth World Cup victory of the winter and her 45th individual win overall. She dominated throughout the day, winning the qualification, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final.
The event took place in winter weather with sunshine. German Olympic gold medalist Daniela Maier and Swiss silver medalist Fanny Smith were eliminated during the competition. In the men's class, David Mobärg had the second-fastest time in qualification but crashed out in the quarterfinal.
