Swedish footballer Samuel Kroon has signed with the Icelandic club KA Akureyri. The club announced the move through its official channels. Kroon, 29, previously played for Örebro SK in Sweden's Superettan.
He started 28 matches last year and scored one goal in the final round, a 94th-minute equalizer against Trelleborgs FF. That goal reportedly helped ÖSK secure a qualification spot and contributed to Trelleborgs FF's relegation. ÖSK won the subsequent qualification match against Hammarby TFF in a penalty shootout.
Kroon's contract with ÖSK ended in early December, and he reportedly wanted to extend it, but the club chose not to renew. He has now signed a contract with KA Akureyri that runs through the 2027 season.
