The musical 'Spamalot' will have its premiere in Malmö this autumn at Nöjesteatern, with Samuel Fröler in the role of King Arthur. The production is a new staging directed by Anders Albien, marking a comeback for the show at the same theater where it was first performed in Sweden in 2010. The cast includes Anders 'Ankan' Johansson as Sir Robin, Morgan Alling as Sir Bedevere, Fredrik Lexfors as Sir Lancelot, David Sigfridsson as Sir Galahad, and Kim Sulocki, with some actors returning from the ensemble that performed the musical sixteen years ago.
Fröler reportedly described his role as nearly overqualified, citing his past experience in musicals like 'Jekyll & Hyde' and his music releases. He is also filming a TV series about the king and Silvia's love story, playing Prince Bertil, with production continuing until midsummer. The musical is based on the 1975 film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', adapted into a stage show by Monty Python member Eric Idle in 2005.
