Rolls-Royce is launching a new Coachbuild Collection program that blends one-off motor cars with curated experiences for a select group of clients, with the first collection being fully electric. Each collection will be produced in very limited numbers and will never be repeated. Access to the Coachbuild Collection is strictly by invitation through Rolls-Royce's global Private Office network in locations including Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai, New York, and Goodwood.
Selected clients will have a deep affinity for Rolls-Royce design and a particular interest in seeing how such cars are created. Each Coachbuild Collection will center around a completely new body style, designed and engineered in-house and fully road-legal. Coachbuilding is not new for Rolls-Royce; in the early days, customers received a rolling chassis and commissioned bespoke bodies from specialist coachbuilders.
Rolls-Royce maintains strict design proportions to ensure every car remains instantly recognizable as a Rolls-Royce, a principle that continues today. Modern coachbuilt projects like Sweptail, Boat Tail, and Droptail have demonstrated the appetite among ultra-wealthy clients for highly personalized cars. A growing number of collectors are less interested in directing the design themselves and more intrigued by what Rolls-Royce might create if left entirely to its own devices, which has helped shape the new program.
According to the company, the electric focus reflects the preferences of Rolls-Royce's most loyal clients, many of whom already own the Spectre and appreciate the refinement of an electric powertrain. The number of cars to be produced, the specific curated experiences, pricing, delivery timeline, and exact number of invited clients have not been disclosed.
