Rögle has reportedly reached an agreement with Swedish defenseman Axel Kumlin for the 2026/27 season, according to Expressen. The 24-year-old is coming directly from the NCAA college league in North America, where he played for the University of Notre Dame, recording 17 points in 37 games. Kumlin previously developed in Frölunda's junior system and represented Sweden at various youth national team levels.
The signing is set to be presented after the current season ends, with Rögle beginning its SHL quarterfinal against Färjestad. The club hopes Kumlin will become a key defenseman over time, as it aims to balance its roster economically.
