The new initiative, announced by Region Gotland, will take place in Almedalen. Headline performers include pop group A*Teens, known for ABBA covers and original hits from the early 2000s, and children's artist Grannen Måns. Activities will feature pony riding, an obstacle course, and a boiler room dance floor.
According to officials, interest in free events was high during Hansedagarna 2025. The full program schedule, additional artists, expected attendance, and funding details have not yet been disclosed. Meit Fohlin, chair of the regional council, said the event aims to lower barriers so more people can enjoy culture.
Project leader Josefine Eriksson described it as a wonderful folk festival with something for everyone.
