Ragunda municipality in Sweden is taking measures after its largest private employer, Zepro, announced it is leaving Bispgården and laying off 140 people. One of the measures is hiring a dedicated worker to attract a new industry to Bispgården. The municipality is working with Fors business association and has received funding from Tillväxtverket to finance this new position, which will focus on finding a company to move into Zepro's premises.
Municipal councilor Anton Hammar (S) says the conditions for a new industry are good in Bispgården, highlighting the manufacturing expertise among Ragunda's residents. In the report, Hammar also explains what the 140 people losing their jobs can expect from the municipality.
