A mysterious formation in Antarctica that appears to mirror Egypt's Giza pyramids has been spotted on Google Earth, with independent researcher Jay Anderson identifying the ice-covered structures. The Antarctic formations are located at coordinates 79°58'39.0"S 81°57'34.0"W in the southern portion of the Ellsworth Mountains, where the central formation rises about 4,500 feet tall with four steep sides and appears flanked by two smaller pyramid-like peaks. Geologists say the mountain's pyramid-like shape was likely formed over hundreds of millions of years through freeze-thaw erosion. Eric Rignot, a professor of Earth system science at UC Irvine and senior research scientist at NASA, previously said the formations in Antarctica are just a mountain that looks like a pyramid, while Mauri Pelto, a professor of environmental science at Nichols College, said freeze-thaw erosion probably forged other pyramidal mountains including the Matterhorn.
A mysterious pyramid-like structure has been spotted on Mars in NASA footage, initially identified by researcher Keith Laney in 2001 from the Mars Global Surveyor. The Martian pyramid sits in the Western Region of Candor Chasma in the Valles Marineris canyon system and was observed across five separate images taken by NASA missions between 2001 and 2016. NASA has determined the Martian pyramid is a natural formation, but conflicting interpretations persist: Mars researcher George Haas reported that the three-sided pyramid exhibits geometry and symmetry that supports a high probability of artificial origins, and Laney commented that it is most definitely artificial.
Unearthed CIA documents from 2025 revealed the agency conducted experiments that allegedly revealed an ancient civilization that built at least one pyramid existed on Mars.
