A well-known public figure from Växjö has been formally charged with multiple counts of domestic violence against his wife, according to court documents filed by prosecutor Magnus Ling. The man, who has been held in custody since December 2025, faces charges including gross violation of women's integrity and two counts of gross assault.
The indictment alleges that the man subjected his wife to repeated abuse dating back to 2021, with 48 separate incidents listed in the charging documents. According to the official complaint, the alleged abuse included physical violence, threats, and psychological harm over several years.
Two specific incidents from 2023 have been classified as gross assault. In one instance, the man allegedly struck his wife with a walking stick, resulting in a broken finger. In another, he is accused of hitting her in the face with a glass, causing serious injuries.
The defendant, who has maintained a high public profile in Växjö for many years, has consistently denied all allegations against him. He has been held at Växjö detention center with restrictions for three months while evidence was gathered.
Prosecutor Magnus Ling has submitted the formal indictment, which details what authorities describe as a pattern of abuse spanning multiple years. The case is now proceeding through the Swedish judicial system.
