Pret currently operates around 500 shops in the UK and about 700 globally across 21 markets, with 220 coffee shops already in airports, motorway service stations and train stations in the UK. It is the fourth-largest coffee chain in the UK based on market share. In a separate expansion, Pret A Manger is opening its first-ever UK drive-thru this May, located at the former Starbucks cafe at Oakwood Gate services in Birchwood, on the outskirts of Warrington.

This drive-thru venture is being launched in collaboration with major petrol station operator Motor Fuel Group. Pret CEO Pano Christou said Pret could open 300 to 400 new travel locations, some of which could be drive-thrus.

Deepening our partnership with Pret and adding new locations across our estate as we head into the busy spring and summer travel periods marks another important milestone for our business. We are committed to working with the best brands to provide customers with unparalleled choice, quality and convenience when they travel.
