A priest in Norrbotten, Sweden, has been charged with aggravated child pornography offenses, according to reports from Norrländska Socialdemokraten. The case involves Jonny Vikström, who reportedly had over 8,000 images and 24 videos of child pornography on his computer. The material was described as being of a particularly ruthless character.
According to the report, the crime was discovered in August 2025. The priest allegedly possessed a total of 52,871 images, of which 8,397 were assessed as particularly ruthless. The 24 videos reportedly have a total playtime of five hours and 21 minutes.
The case is being treated as aggravated due to the large volume of material and the particularly young age of the children depicted, according to the charging documents. All municipalities in Norrbotten are part of the Luleå diocese where the priest served. The case was also reported by Aftonbladet, confirming the charges against the priest.
